Total Suburban
Suburban on-time running is based on data from all suburban lines which pass through Central Station. These are: Eastern Suburbs, Illawarra, Bankstown, Inner West, Airport, East Hills, South, North Shore, Western and Northern.

Carlingford Line services that travel direct to and from the city are included in the Western Line data. Carlingford Line services terminating at Clyde Station, and Cumberland Line data, is not included in this calculation.

Peak on-time running
Peak hour services are those arriving in the Sydney CBD between 6.00am and 9.00am and those departing the Sydney CBD between 4.00pm and 6.00pm from Monday to Friday. The final destination for morning peak services is Central Station, while the final destination during the afternoon peak is the last passenger destination for each service.

From 1 July 2005 the on-time running benchmark for suburban services is five minutes. Suburban data before that date refers to a benchmark of three minutes and 59 seconds.
