Adobe PDF View capacity by service (September 2011)

CityRail measures service capacity on a regular basis to assist in meeting customer demand. The most recent survey was conducted in September 2011.

In line with our commitments under the 2009 Customer Charter, we have published the results for each line.

Our measure compares the number of passengers on a train with the number of available seats.

These figures are a guide only and seats are less likely to be available during the busiest times, particularly on express and limited-stop services.

The next survey will be conducted in March 2012.

Tips to make your journey safe and enjoyable.

Notes:
(1) The busiest one hour based on Central time and varies by line depending on volumes on the individual line.
(2) Cronulla express trains that do not stop at Sydenham are measured at Hurstville in the morning peak.
(3) The overall average load factor excludes the Eastern Suburbs Line and intercity services.
(4) Cronulla express trains that do not stop at Sydenham are measured at Redfern in the afternoon peak.
