Getting to the Show
Trains are the most convenient way to get to the 2008 Sydney Royal Easter Show, located right next door to Olympic Park Station.

Use the travel plan matrix to find the recommended way to travel to Olympic Park Station by train from your point of departure.

Some areas (Illawarra Line, Bankstown Line, Airport & East Hills Line and Northern Line) are also serviced by Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses, which provide direct services to Sydney Olympic Park.

Wheelchair access facilities are available at Central, Strathfield, Lidcombe, Parramatta, Blacktown, Granville and Olympic Park stations.

There is no access from the lift on platform 4 to and from the concourse at Lidcombe Station. Customers travelling on services from the Airport & East Hills, Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra and North Shore lines who have prams or require wheelchair access are advised to change trains at Strathfield Station after 9.00am for a direct service to Olympic Park Station.

For further details on wheelchair accessible stations, visit the Station Facilities section or call the Transport Infoline on 131 500.

Remember, to avoid peak hour commuters on weekdays, we suggest you travel between 9.00am – 3.00pm and after 7.00pm.

If you require travel information for other modes of public transport, including buses and ferries, please visit the Transport Infoline website.

Walking to the Show?
There are pedestrian walking routes from Lidcombe and Concord West stations. It takes approximately 40 minutes to walk from Lidcombe to Sydney Olympic Park and 25 minutes from Concord West.

Getting home from the Show
Use the getting home travel plan matrix to find the recommended way to travel home from Olympic Park Station after the Show.

Customers travelling home who have prams or require wheelchair access should catch a direct service from Olympic Park to Strathfield for a connecting train.

Important trackwork information
Buses are replacing trains between Cronulla and Sutherland on the Illawarra Line throughout the Easter long weekend, Friday 21 March - Monday 24 March. Customers are advised to allow extra time in travelling to and from the Show. For more information visit the Trackwork section.

Please remember:

  • You must carry a valid ticket when travelling on trains or buses. Fines apply to customers who cannot produce a valid ticket and concession card if applicable.
  • Please take special care if travelling with prams or small children.
  • Large crowds may be travelling, so please be patient and allow yourself plenty of travel time.
