Travelling at night
After 8.00pm in the city and 7.00pm in outer suburbs, the Nightsafe trains operate. Nightsafe means only the two carriages nearest the train guard are open to passengers.
A bright blue external light indicates the location of the guard. When waiting for trains, you should walk along the station platforms to the Nightsafe Area, clearly marked on the platform edge adjacent to where the Nightsafe carriages will stop.
CityRail has improved security at all our stations by introducing video surveillance cameras which are locally monitored 24 hours a day, brighter lighting, and press button Emergency Help Points which connect you to a security control room. |
