Integrated transport connections

Wheelchair accessible buses, ferries, and trains connect at selected locations to extend the possibilities of travel throughout Sydney.

When considering your transport options please see the station facilities section, and note that:

  1. While many stations have a bus stop or ferry wharf nearby, there is not necessarily a path allowing independent wheelchair access between the station and that facility. If you require wheelchair access, please use a station with an accessible interchange.

  2. An accessible interchange is a wheelchair accessible train station which has an accessible path to a bus stop or ferry wharf. Not all connecting services will be wheelchair accessible. Please telephone 131 500 or the transport provider to confirm the accessibility of specific services.

The following accessible CityRail stations have an accessible connection to bus services:

An accessible ferry - train connection is at Circular Quay station.

  3. Some stations are marked as CityRail bus stops. In most cases these are stations which are not serviced by CityRail trains, but are serviced by buses. Please contact the nearest interchange station for information about timetables and the accessibility of bus connections.

  4. Taxi ranks are located close to many CityRail stations. Some ranks are accessible to passengers with mobility restrictions and some will require the help of a friend or carer - please check Station Facilities and ring the station prior to travel. In the event of an emergency or other significant disruption to rail services, CityRail staff may provide taxis as an alternative means of transporting rail customers.

The Taxi Transport Subsidy Scheme is a subsidised scheme that operates throughout NSW to provide special purpose taxis. For enquiries regarding eligibility and areas serviced, call (02) 9689 8808 during business hours. A TTY facility is available on (02) 9689 8899 (during business hours).

  5. Many stations have a car park close by which may or may not be accessible. Fees or time restrictions may apply (more likely in city areas). CityRail complies with the parking concessions established under the Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) Mobility Parking Scheme. For more information contact the RTA on 13 22 13.

  6. Most bike racks / bike lockers are operated by individual stations, however, some are owned by Bicycle NSW. Please contact the station to check whether you need to make a booking for a locker. If this is the case, Bicycle NSW can be contacted on (02) 9218 5400.
