The Trip Planner will assist you to generate a travel plan using CityRail services, or a combination of train, bus and ferry services.

Where can I find specific information about travelling to a special or sporting event?
During special events such as rugby league matches or the Royal Easter Show, CityRail will run additional trains.

How do I travel to the Airport?
Trains to the Airport Line depart from all City Circle stations and from platform 23 at Central Station. We also operate direct services from Campbelltown to the City via the Airport.

I have a disability. How should I travel with CityRail?
CityRail is committed to providing a service that everyone can use. We are continuing to upgrade our trains and stations to improve access.

Can I use my mobile phone on a train?
Yes. The use of mobile phones is permitted on CityRail trains and stations. Please be considerate of the comfort of other customers.
Can I eat or drink on CityRail trains and stations?
Yes. Consuming food and drink, except for alcohol, is permitted on trains and stations. However to keep our trains and stations clean, we ask that you take your rubbish with you or dispose of it thoughtfully.
Can I smoke on rail property?
Yes. However, customers are not allowed to smoke on trains or in any enclosed area. This includes counter areas, underground stations, travel centres, under platform awnings and other public access areas.
You are permitted to smoke at the end of any platform, provided there is no awning or cover and it is not an enclosed/underground station. Fines apply for persons smoking in prohibited areas. Transit Officers are not required to provide warnings prior to issuing a fine.
Can I take my bike on a train?
Yes. Bikes are permitted on trains free of charge, except if any part of the journey is made between 6.00am and 9.00am or 3.30pm and 7.30pm on weekdays.
Customers travelling during those times must purchase a child ticket for the bike as well as their own ticket. This includes whole, dismantled or partially dismantled bicycles.
Folding bikes are permitted on trains free of charge at any time, provided the bike is folded and carried in a bag before boarding. The bike (in its bag) must not exceed these dimensions: 82cm length x 69cm height x 39cm width with a maximum wheel rim diameter of 51cm.
Free travel does not apply to CityRail bus services, including trackwork or NightRide buses.
Please ensure your bike does not block doors and passageways. Riding bikes, skateboards, scooters or skates on stations and trains is not permitted.
Can I ride my bike, skateboard, roller skates or scooter on rail property?
No. It is an offence to ride a bicycle, skateboard, roller skates or scooter on a CityRail station. Fines apply.
Can I take my pet on a train?
No. We do not allow pets to travel on our trains. However, exceptions are made for trained and registered assistance dogs, assistance dogs in training, or police and security dogs when on duty.

What materials are not permitted on stations or trains?
Toxic, inflammable and/or hazardous materials are not permitted on stations or trains.
How do I pay a penalty notice?
If you have been fined you will have been given a penalty notice. Payment options are printed on the back of the Penalty Notice.
How do I appeal a penalty notice?
If you believe you have been unfairly fined you have the option of having the matter dealt with by a court. Depending on the circumstances you may also be entitled to a review by the State Debt Recovery Office.
