  New timetable undergoes fine-tuning
  Wednesday 12 October 2005

Sydney

  • Additional capacity will be provided on the 7.33am Campbelltown-to-Circular Quay via Granville service by increasing the train from six carriages to eight.
  • Additional capacity will also be provided on the 7.57am Berowra-to-Central via the North Shore service by increasing the train from six carriages to eight.
  • Connections on the Carlingford Line will be improved by adjusting service times.

Central Coast

  • Extra stops will be added at Koolewong (7.05am) and Tascott (7.08am) on the Central Coast for school students travelling on the 5.47am Central-to-Newcastle service.
  • There will be changes to early morning Central Coast services to better meet the needs of shiftworkers. The 2.50am Wyong-to-Central service will now depart at 2.39am and arrive at Central at 4.33am. On weekends, the 2.45am Wyong-Central service will also leave at 2.39am and make an additional stop at Asquith to ensure consistency with the weekday service.
  • Additional stops will be made on the 7.15pm weekend Central-Newcastle service at Narara, Niagara Park, Lisarow and Ourimbah to reduce a gap in service on the line.

Southern Highlands

  • Evening connections for Southern Highlands passengers via Campbelltown will be improved. The last weekday train will leave Campbelltown at 10.40pm instead of 10.25pm, giving passengers the opportunity to leave the city later.
  • Crowding will be reduced and passenger comfort improved for connecting Southern Highlands’ commuters, by rearranging the use of the newly extended Platform 4 at Campbelltown.

These changes will be online on 17 October 2005.
