A new passenger information system, modelled on those used by the London Underground, is currently being introduced to our 35 passenger information screens at 25 locations across the network. It is designed to improve the real time disruption and emergency information to passengers.
The difference with the new screen layout is that it displays each major line on the network with its current on-time-running status.
This sort of information provides a snapshot of current disruptions and the extent of the delays, which allows passengers to make informed choices about their travel plans quickly and simply.
The new screen layout was trialled at Central Station
since December and customers were invited to provide feedback via this website. 65% of customers rated the clarity of the messages as very good or good and 70% rated the screens overall as very good or good.
