Q.When can I purchase my 14 Day RailPass?
A. You can buy the new 14 Day RailPass any day of the week from Wednesday 21 May 2008.

If you get paid fortnightly, why not buy your ticket on pay day?

Q. Can I buy my 14 Day RailPass after 3.00pm, the day before I need it - in the same way as I buy my 7 Day RailPass?
A. Yes. If you purchase your 14 Day RailPass after 3.00pm, you can travel by train that afternoon plus a further fourteen consecutive days.

Q. How much will I save if I buy a 14 Day RailPass?
A. The 14 Day RailPass is exactly twice the price of a 7 Day RailPass.

When you buy a 14 Day RailPass you only pay for eight return trips, so you can enjoy six days travel for free.

If you regularly purchase single or return tickets you could save even more money with a 14 Day RailPass. For example, you save from 35% when compared to buying 14 daily return tickets if you travel up to 10km e.g. from St Leonards to the City.

Q.When will other stations be selling the 14 Day RailPass?
A. At this stage the 14 Day RailPass will be sold on a trial basis for several weeks at 25 stations, including all Sydney City stations. If the trial is successful, the 14 Day RailPass will be made available at all CityRail stations.

General conditions

  • No application form is required.
  • Adult, child and student tickets are available. The cost of a child or student ticket is half the adult fare.
  • 14 days consecutive travel cannot be stopped e.g. in case of sickness.
  • If your ticket is lost or stolen, unfortunately it cannot be refunded.
  • A new ticket will need to be purchased at the start of each new 14 day period – the 14 Day RailPass cannot be "topped up" before it expires.
  • If you plan to break your journey and get on or off at an Airport Line station you will need to pay an additional Station Access Fee.
