A new station has been built at Schofields as part of the Quakers Hill to Schofields Duplication project and opened on Saturday 29 October 2011. The new, relocated Schofields Station is approximately 800 metres south of Schofields village and less than 350 metres south of Schofields Road.

The Quakers Hill to Schofields Duplication project including the new Schofields Station, provides customers at Schofields with a more frequent service. The opening of the new Schofields Station means that all trains to and from Richmond now stop at Schofields, and most peak City services that currently start/terminate at Quakers Hill now start/terminate at Schofields.

The state-of-the-art facilities at the new Schofields Station have been tailored to the community and include:

• 230 car spaces - three times more than the existing station - with 120 on the Bridge Street side and 110 on the Railway Terrace side
• A new bus interchange
• Stair and lift access to a covered concourse and the platform
• 40 bike racks - 20 on each side of the station
• Kiss-and-Ride facilities for passenger pick-up and drop off
• Disabled parking close to station lifts
• Ticket machines/window located on the covered concourse
• A link to Bridge Street, providing direct vehicle and pedestrian access
• Pedestrian path along Bridge Street and shared cycle/ pedestrian path along Railway Terrace, providing access from Schofields village to the station

The T74 bus service has be extended to operate between Riverstone and Blacktown via the new Schofields Station, Stanhope Gardens and Parklea Markets. These services operate 7 days a week, running every 30 minutes on weekdays and hourly on weekends.
