Fast, Smart, Safe

This is a video and accompanying teacher resource booklet aimed at years 7-10. Particularly useful at the beginning of each new school year, it is designed to remind students about the importance of safety issues when travelling by train - for themselves, their friends and other passengers.

Many school students are new to rail travel when beginning high school, and benefit from instruction using the 'Safe Living' strand 7-10 syllabus outcomes around the theme of actions and consequences of student behaviour on public transport.

The video, via a series of scenarios, asks students to identify behaviour that is unsafe, assesses the risks involved and proposes alternatives.

The package is designed to encourage student discussion and sensible safe decision making.

Fast Smart Safe was sent to all NSW High Schools in August 2000.
