Security
CityRail’s number one priority is our commitment
to the safety and security of our customers and staff.
We employ 600 RailCorp Transit Officers to patrol CityRail stations and trains for the protection for all our passengers.
With almost one million passenger journeys a day, CityRail
has the best and most comprehensive rail network security
system in the Southern Hemisphere.
- There are more than 6400 security cameras on CityRail
stations right across the network, which are controlled
from strategically placed central locations.
- There are 7000 high intensity lights and 700 emergency
help points installed across the network.
As
a whole of Government approach to the current global
security environment, CityRail has made some changes
to our operational procedures, further enhancing the
safety and security of the CityRail network and our
customers.
