Your guide to Sydney trains

MyTrain weekly and fortnightly

Weekly and fortnightly MyTrain tickets give you unlimited CityRail travel between any two stations for seven or 14 days. Save money, avoid the queues and enjoy the flexibility of being able to enter or exit at stations along the way (restrictions apply).

To find out your fare, select your origin and destination on the CityRail fare calculator.

MyTrain weekly tickets are heavily discounted and a more economical option than purchasing five peak return tickets for travel to and from work. If, for instance you commute between Parramatta and Town Hall, five peak return tickets cost $48 while a MyTrain weekly is just $39.

Moore Park precinctMyTrain weekly and fortnightly tickets also offer unlimited travel between origin and destination stations over a seven-day period so you can spend the weekend having breakfast in Burwood, shopping at Strathfield or lunching in Lidcombe using the same ticket that takes you between Parramatta and Town Hall each weekday.

You can also hop on and off at any station between your nominated stations (restrictions apply).

Travel tips

  • Get more travel for the same fare: when choosing your ticket destination, consider selecting the station at the end of your fare band. You can find the distances between stations on the CityRail fare calculator.
  • Tickets purchased at CityRail stations commence on the date of purchase. Get an extra day's travel, free: buy your weekly or fortnightly MyTrain ticket after 3.00pm to get travel for the rest of the day, plus a further seven or 14 days.

Child and concession fares

Concession weekly and fortnightly MyTrain tickets are available to children aged 4 to 15 years (inclusive), students and pensioners. Children aged 3 and under travel free. Find out more about concession fares.

Where to buy

  • MyTrain weekly tickets are available from station ticket offices and ticket vending machines
  • MyTrain fortnightly tickets are available from station ticket offices and selected ticket vending machines.

Airport stations

A station access fee applies at International Airport and Domestic Airport. If your MyTrain ticket shows International Airport or Domestic Airport as the origin or destination, the access fee is included in the cost of the ticket. If your ticket does not include the access fee, simply buy a GatePass when you enter or exit at these stations.
